Oh, say, can you see JC Chasez?
R&B; singer Kiley Dean will sing the national anthem at the Pro Bowl in Honolulu on Sunday, replacing JC Chasez of ‘N Sync, who pulled out in a dispute with the NFL.
The NFL had asked Chasez to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” after removing him from the halftime show out of concern that some of his lyrics may be too suggestive. The league said it was being extra cautious following the Super Bowl halftime show incident involving Chasez’s bandmate Justin Timberlake.
Chasez responded on Thursday: “That’s not the America I love. Nor is this the NFL I love. I’ll sing the national anthem anytime, anywhere, but not for this NFL.”
