Bruin Fans Didn’t Want Any More of This

When I read that UCLA Athletic Director Dan Guerrero had offered Karl Dorrell a contract extension, I could not believe it. But then it dawned on me that Guerrero, a pretty sharp guy, probably concocted the scheme to make his beleaguered coach score a couple of points with a public that is screaming for his head. I imagine the exchange went something like this:

Guerrero: You know, Karl, there is no way I can offer you an extension. Almost everyone is calling for me to cut my losses and let you go now.

Dorrell: But Dan, I have already fired the tight end coach. I am about to make a change in the equipment manager. I know that those were the key things holding us back last season.

Guerrero: Tell you what, let’s make you look like a good guy. I will offer it only if you turn it down.

Dorrell: OK, but will you change your mind if we rank higher than 100th in the nation in total offense next season?

Now that the UCLA football program has become Transfer U. (John Sciarra, Matt Moore and Tyler Ebell), may I suggest three more transfers?

Transfer Athletic Director Dan Guerrero back to UC Irvine, send Karl Dorrell back to the Denver Broncos and transfer Norm Chow (USC) to UCLA as head coach.
