4 Employed by U.N. Are Slain in Ambush
From Times Wire Reports
Four Afghan employees of a de-mining agency were killed in an ambush after delivering supplies to de-miners near Bala Buluk, about 340 miles west of the capital, Kabul.
“We had a team nearby who heard the shots being fired,” said Patrick Fruchet of the U.N. de-mining program. “When they got there, they were all dead.”
Attacks by suspected Taliban insurgents and their allies have left more than 100 people dead since Jan. 1, mainly in the country’s south and east.
