Panelists Suggest Later Start Time for Schools
From Times Staff Reports
City Council members Tom LaBonge and Janice Hahn have proposed that Los Angeles Unified School District officials consider revamping schedules to start the school day at 8:30 or 9 a.m. -- instead of 7:30 or 8 a.m. -- to give children extra sleep.
The city has no jurisdiction over the school district.
