Curtis Joseph has given the Detroit Red Wings a big lift in place of the injured Dominik Hasek.

Joseph made 26 saves for the 43rd shutout of his career, and Jason Woolley and Kris Draper each scored twice in the Red Wings’ 6-0 victory over Nashville on Monday night at Detroit.

Joseph is 10-5-1 this season with two shutouts.

“Certainly, things are going well, no question about it,” said Joseph, who had been sent to Grand Rapids (Mich.) of the AHL before Hasek was injured again. “Just trying not to think about it and keep it going.”

Joseph has carried the Red Wings in goal since Dec. 10, with Hasek out for the third time because of a groin injury. Detroit had been trying to trade Joseph since Hasek came out of retirement in June. Joseph had ankle surgery in mid-August.

Detroit beat Nashville for the first time this season after losing the first three against the Predators.

San Jose 2, Vancouver 1 -- Patrick Marleau scored with 38 seconds left in the third period to lift the Sharks at Vancouver, Canada.

The Canucks outshot the Sharks, 38-17, but couldn’t solve Vesa Toskala, who started his second consecutive game after No. 1 goalie Evgeni Nabokov left the team to attend a funeral.

Minnesota 1, St. Louis 1 -- Dwayne Roloson gave up a goal in the first minute and shut out the host Blues the rest of the way.

Mark Rycroft scored for the Blues, and Andrei Zyuzin tied the score in the second period.

The Blues’ Doug Weight got an assist for his 800th career point, moving one point ahead of teammate Keith Tkachuk.

Calgary 5, New York Rangers 0 -- Jamie McLennan made 36 saves for his second shutout in four starts, and the Flames won their fifth in a row on the road.

Andrew Ference scored two goals and set up another, and Jarome Iginla had a goal and two assists for Calgary, which ended a three-game winless streak.

New Jersey 3, Edmonton 2 -- Patrik Elias set up the tying goal late in the third period and scored 41 seconds into overtime at East Rutherford, N.J.

Turner Stevenson and Sergei Brylin also scored, and Martin Brodeur had 23 saves to help the Devils win for only the second time in seven games (2-2-2-1).

Toronto 5, Pittsburgh 0 -- Joe Nieuwendyk scored a goal and set up another at Pittsburgh, and the Maple Leafs avoided a letdown against the team with the fewest points in the league.

Nieuwendyk, Tie Domi and Alexei Ponikarovsky had multiple-point games to support Trevor Kidd’s first shutout in more than two years and help the Maple Leafs end a four-game winless streak.
