Judge Resigns Over Alleged Abuse Remarks

A judge resigned after being accused of saying that domestic abuse cases were “a waste of the court’s time” and that most women asked to get “smacked around,” the state’s Commission on Judicial Conduct said.
Hunter Village Justice Robert Hamley resigned after deciding he could not successfully defend himself against charges brought by the commission.
