Rams Check Out After Martz Goes the Safe Way

Share

After just watching the Rams lose in overtime to the Panthers, let me be the first to congratulate the Rams on getting exactly what they wanted, a 50-50 chance to win a playoff game.

Of course, Mike Martz and the Rams fail to realize that a 50-50 chance will mean you win one and lose one. Hey, guys, do the math; when you need to win three or four straight games to win the championship, winning one and losing one isn’t quite good enough.

But what the heck, you played the odds and came close. Isn’t that what being an NFL coach is all about?

Dear Georgia Frontiere,

Sorry to see your beloved Rams lose. I may have missed something, however. I did not see you get up on a podium and state: “I guess it was a bad idea moving from Los Angeles.”

Did anyone else notice the slight degree of Bruin redemption in the Panther-Ram game? Former Bruins DeShaun Foster and Ricky Manning Jr. had outstanding games and the winning touchdown pass was enabled by beating former Trojan Jason Sehorn.

We Bruin football fans have to look hard for silver linings these days.

It was nice to see DeShaun Foster have a great playoff game to enhance his pro career. Maybe now he can afford his own Expedition.
