Officials Ordered to Tell Reporter’s Whereabouts
From Times Wire Reports
A Pakistani court gave the government two days to reveal the whereabouts of a local reporter who helped two French journalists who were arrested last month for violating visa rules.
Khawar Mehdi Rizvi, 44, was arrested Dec. 17 for arranging a visit by Marc Epstein and Jean-Paul Guilloteau to the southwestern province of Baluchistan even though they did not have valid visas.
The Frenchmen were freed Jan. 12 after a court waived their six-month prison sentences. Rizvi has remained in custody.
