U.S. Needs Diplomacy -- Not Arrogance

Re “U.N. Should Change -- or U.S. Should Quit,” Commentary, Jan. 23: As President Bush, hat-in-hand, goes to seek support in extricating the United States from Iraq, he should take with him the credible David Frum-Richard Perle team to also help deliver to the world the “you must change or we’ll quit” speech. This certainly would be consistent with the arrogant approach this administration and its cronies have taken so far.

Incidentally, would Frum and Perle approve of other countries’ applying the same preemption principle they so blindly advocate, if we were on the receiving end? This would certainly be a frightful world!
