Lawyer Gets 10 Years for Embezzling Millions
A Superior Court judge sentenced attorney Bruce Nahin to 10 years in state prison Thursday for embezzling millions of dollars from his clients, including two elderly women.
Judge Norm Shapiro also ordered Nahin to pay $1.6 million in restitution to 11 victims. Investigators learned of the case after Nahin’s former clients came forward.
Nahin, an Agua Dulce lawyer who used some of the stolen money to bankroll his horse ranch, had pleaded no contest to embezzlement charges.
“I know a lot of people are going to sleep better knowing he’s in prison,” Deputy Dist. Atty. Ed Miller said.
