Michael Moore drops Texas trip
Filmmaker Michael Moore decided not to attend a screening of his documentary “Fahrenheit 9/11” near President Bush’s ranch in Texas on Wednesday, saying he was afraid his presence would detract attention from the movie’s message.
Moore earlier had said he would attend a peace group’s screening in Crawford, the first time the film has been shown in the vicinity of Bush’s ranch. But after the media frenzy that surrounded his appearances at the Democratic National Convention this week, he changed his mind.
“He does not want to take away the focus of their event,” a spokesman said Wednesday.
