Bush’s Service Record
Re “More of Bush’s National Guard Records Discovered,” July 24: These newly discovered records do nothing to change the fact that while Sen. John Kerry and tens of thousands of other young men were risking (or losing) their lives in Vietnam, President Bush was at home safely ensconced in the Texas Air National Guard.
The fact that he may have fulfilled his Guard requirement is irrelevant. What is relevant is the fact that he chose to avoid combat, yet a generation later he boldly sends tens of thousands more young people to risk and give their lives in a war with questionable motive and benefit. Such hypocrisy and cowardice are undeserving of the office he was appointed to.
