Resignations Overdue
It was long overdue for CIA Director George Tenet to resign (June 4). Nobody will shed any tears for his departure. In our democratic, free-market economy, we take responsibility. He should have resigned soon after 9/11, for the failure of his department to prevent this carnage. It would have been much more difficult for him to continue without the arrogance of President Bush.
Now is the time for Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to follow in the footsteps of Tenet. Take the responsibility for those prisoners abused in Iraq.
