‘ER’ star clarifies her comments

British actress Alex Kingston, 41, says her quotes in the BBC’s Radio Times listings magazine interview that she was axed from the NBC series “ER” because she was too old were taken out of context.

In a statement issued by Kingston on Tuesday she said: “I would like to clarify my feelings regarding my departure from ‘ER.’ Statements from an interview I recently gave were spoken tongue in cheek ....

“I regret if these statements have affected the producers, as we are in mutual agreement that the storyline for my character had run its course.... Like other former cast members who have moved on from the how, I am looking forward to a creative and successful future.”
