Shippey Lane Will Go to Greater Lengths

Share

Unbeaten in three starts here, Shippey Lane will stretch out to six furlongs for the first time in California in tonight’s $14,000 Summer Distaff.

A 6-year-old Arabian mare owned by Mandolynn Hill Farm and trained by Billy Lewis, Shippey Lane won once in three races in Oklahoma in 2003 but has been on a roll at Los Alamitos.

Bred in Maryland by Seahorse Farm, Shippey Lane won an allowance by six lengths April 10, then won two more by a combined 4 1/4 lengths. Joy Scott again will ride.
