Catchings Leads Fever to Victory
Tamika Catchings had 18 points and a season-high seven assists to lead the Indiana Fever past the Sacramento Monarchs, 63-50, in front of 6,422 on Wednesday night.
Catchings also had five steals as the Monarchs committed a season-high 20 turnovers with guard Ticha Penicheiro hampered by a bruised left hand.
The injury kept Penicheiro out of the starting lineup for the first time in three seasons. She played only 20 minutes, failed to score and had a season-low two assists.
Yolanda Griffith led the Monarchs with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
