Mongoose Jet Eye Faces Five

Mongoose Jet Eye, last seen finishing fourth in the Los Alamitos Derby on Nov. 8, is among six mares entered in tonight’s eighth, a $12,550 allowance at 350 yards.

Trained by Adan Farias, Mongoose Jet Eye, a 4-year-old daughter of Mr Eye Opener, won five of eight in 2003 and was second in two of her losses. She is a winner in three of her last four starts at tonight’s distance.

Farias also will send out Ddf De Great Saiga, who hasn’t been out since Oct. 11. The Idaho-bred mare has won 11 of 25.

Completing the field are Macumba Royal Hemp, who has won six of 11; Pennants Chick, McKaizlees Kiss, who has won two of her last four for trainer Blane Schvaneveldt, and Yak Ity Yak Go.

Shots in the dark: Elite Cash should improve with a race under his belt in the third. Special Allowance debuts for trainer Samantha Valencia in the fifth.
