Re “Cut in HUD Funds a Blow to Poor,” Feb. 29: Diana Machado said she’s being punished for being poor. But the real victims of the Section 8 subsidies suspension are the children. They’re born to women who lack the resources to properly care for them -- yet who continue to irresponsibly reproduce regardless of their desperate circumstances.
