Navy SEAL Candidate Dies During Training

A 30-year-old Navy man has died after he collapsed while participating in physical training to become a SEAL.
Boatswain Mate 1st Class Rob Vetter died Sunday at a Coronado hospital. He had been on life support since he collapsed Feb. 19 while participating in a conditioning run, a Navy spokesman said Monday.
Vetter, a native of Dover, N.J., was in the second week of a demanding 30-week Naval Special Warfare training program for SEAL candidates. The death of the 12-year Navy veteran is being investigated.
