Amtrak, Metrolink Sued in Crash That Killed 2
The families of two railroad subcontractors who were struck by a train and killed in Laguna Niguel last year have filed negligence suits against Amtrak and Metrolink.
Adam Underwood, 40, of Fountain Valley and Antonio Almanza, 61, of Los Angeles were killed April 1 when an Amtrak train struck them after they had finished inspecting track.
The suits filed in Santa Ana seek unspecified damages. They allege that the men were on the tracks legally and that their deaths were a result of negligent conduct by the agencies.
The Orange County Transportation Authority also is named as a defendant.
