Charges Dropped in Freeway Shootings Case

Prosecutors on Friday dropped charges against a Stockton man arrested in connection with a spate of shootings on Interstate 580 east of San Francisco.
Christopher Gafford, 27, of Stockton, remained behind bars in an Alameda County jail on unrelated charges, but prosecutors said their case had fallen apart.
“We do not have enough evidence to prosecute Mr. Gafford at this time,” Alameda County Assistant Dist. Atty. Thomas Rogers said.
