* Phil Hughes, Santa Ana Foothill: Gave up three hits and no earned runs in six innings and Justin Uribe and Ben Worrall each drove in two runs and scored once in an 8-2 victory over Irvine Northwood in the championship game of the Foothill/Costa Mesa tournament.

* Ray Alverez, Santa Fe Springs Santa Fe: Went four for four and scored three runs and Ryan Bateman had a home run and four RBIs in an 8-6, nine-inning victory over tournament host Montebello in the championship game.

* Robert Vargas, Alhambra: Pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and had two hits and two RBIs in a 7-1 pool-play victory over El Monte Mountain View. Alhambra advances to the tournament final.

* Sam Torres, Bell: Pitched a no-hitter with five strikeouts and Jevanny Bramasco had two hits and two RBIs in a 3-0 victory over Santa Monica St. Monica in a consolation game of the San Fernando Valley tournament.

SOFTBALL

* Stephanie Boshae, Sylmar: Finished with a one-hitter after having a perfect game through 6 1/3innings in a 21-0 nonleague victory over Reseda Cleveland. Bianca Mejia and Brenda Lira combined for five RBIs.

BOYS’ TENNIS

* Blake Muller, Santa Barbara: Swept 6-2, 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1 singles in a 13-5 nonleague victory over Palm Desert. The Dons’ doubles teams of Christopher Aznho-Grant Robertson and Mike Williams-Kerry Wheeler also swept.

* Alex Kruger-Wyman and Alex Caurghon, Pasadena Poly: Each swept three singles sets, with Kruger-Wyman only dropping two games, in a 10-8 victory over Cerritos Whitney in the Poly/La Salle tournament championship.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

* Brett Perrine and Adam Schlesinger, Newport Harbor: Perrine had 36 kills and Schlesing had 85 assists as the Sailors beat Huntington Beach Edison and L.A. Loyola but lost to Fresno Bullard in pool play of the San Diego Tournament of Champions.

* Danny Corbett, Mission Hills Alemany: Had 45 assists and George Papadoupolous had 15 kills in a 14-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-18 Mission League victory over North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake.
