Man Hunted in Freeway Killing
Los Angeles police on Wednesday released a sketch of a suspect in last week’s fatal shooting of a 20-year-old college student on the Hollywood Freeway.
Police said the gunman was in his early 20s with a bald or shaven head and a muscular build and driving a late-model white Ford Mustang.
Shortly after midnight on March 9, the suspect and another man, driving north, pulled up alongside a car driven by Valley College student Garen Ketikyan near the Sherman Way exit of the freeway, said Officer Jason Lee, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.
The suspect fired on Ketikyan’s car numerous times and was last seen driving north on the Golden State Freeway, Lee said.
Lee said the Mustang had low-profile tires, chrome rims and custom headlights that give off a blue-tinted beam.
The motive for the shooting is unknown, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call homicide detectives toll-free at (877) 529-3855.
