Coyotes’ Slide Is Over
Mike Comrie ended Phoenix’s 15-game winless streak when he put back his own rebound with 24 seconds to play in overtime, giving the Coyotes a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Monday night at St. Paul, Minn.
Comrie’s first shot bounced off Manny Fernandez’s leg. But Comrie got the rebound and slipped it under the fallen Fernandez.
The Coyotes had been 0-8-4-3 in their slide. Their previous victory had been Feb. 20 against Columbus.
Dallas 4, Calgary 0 -- Marty Turco stopped 29 shots at Calgary for the 21st shutout of his career.
Turco faced only four shots in the first period, compared with 15 for Calgary’s Miikka Kiprusoff as Dallas took a 3-0 lead.
The Flames played better the last two periods, outshooting Dallas, 24-9. But Calgary couldn’t beat Turco, who earned his ninth shutout this season and third in eight games.
