A Gehry hall at a 10th of the price

It’s a bargain compared with the $274-million Walt Disney Concert Hall: In partnership with architect Hugh Hardy, Frank Gehry is designing a $22-million, 299-seat theater in Brooklyn, N.Y., his firm confirmed Wednesday. The multipurpose experimental space, to be built on a city-owned parking lot adjacent to the Brooklyn Academy of Music and near the Mark Morris Dance Studio, would be the first permanent home for the Theater for a New Audience, a 25-year-old off-Broadway company know for its productions of Shakespeare and classical drama.
