Students as Hostages
Re “O.C. Schools’ Loan Is Lost Over Issue of Sex Identity,” March 24: The three Orange County school trustees who don’t believe that all students are entitled to the same civil rights (as required by California law) could cost the Westminster School District up to $56 million in loans and grants. Surely, separation of church and state mandates that our schools should not be held hostage to anyone’s parochial religious beliefs.
