State’s Job Losses a Tool for Business Lobbyists

Share

The two charts with “Schwarzenegger Has Long To-Do List to Boost Business” (April 20) show that California has lost jobs more slowly than other high-tech states and that California’s job loss is concentrated in the Silicon Valley.

That’s not an indication that California’s business climate is bad. Rather, it reveals that California benefited disproportionately from the dot-coms during the economic boom and suffered more from their collapse during the recession.

Business lobbyists are using the job losses as a means to carry out their perpetual agenda of increasing profits, even if it’s to the detriment of the environment, employees or the general public.
