State Gets $20 Million for Highway Projects

California will receive $20.2 million in federal funds for highway projects such as modifications that will help the Golden Gate Bridge withstand seismic movements.
The money from the Federal Highway Administration will also help reduce congestion, enhance safety and improve traffic flow at 41 other California transportation projects.
Other projects include more than $1.1 million to connect the Alameda Corridor and the Los Angeles-Long Beach ports to the transcontinental rail network.
