Condom Use by Adult Film Actors Proposed
From Times Staff Reports
City Councilman Bernard C. Parks proposed Wednesday that adult film actors be required to wear condoms during filming.
For the last month, Southern California’s adult film industry has been rocked by the news that five of its stars have tested positive for HIV. But many producers and distributors have balked at requiring condoms.
A similar bill at the state level has been put aside by the Assembly’s Health Committee for study.
Parks’ motion must be reviewed by a council committee before the full council votes.
