Letter Pinned to Victim Threatens Screenwriter

A letter stuck with a knife onto the corpse of a Dutch filmmaker contained death threats against a politician who wrote the screenplay for the movie he made criticizing Islam, officials said.

Screenwriter Ayaan Hirsi Ali is a Somali-born member of parliament who outraged fellow Muslims by criticizing Islamic customs and the failure of Muslims to adopt Dutch ways.

The chief suspect arrested in Theo Van Gogh’s killing, identified only as Mohammed B., 26, holds Dutch and Moroccan nationality.
