A Navy admiral Wednesday ordered that a member of an elite SEAL team be court-martialed on charges of brutalizing prisoners at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

The decision followed an Article 32 hearing, akin to a grand jury proceeding. The SEAL is accused of assault, dereliction of duty and maltreatment of prisoners. Three other SEALs are scheduled for such hearings.

SEALs worked with the CIA to capture Iraqis suspected of terrorism and to bring them to the prison for questioning.
