Ruling Party Expels Anti-Bush Legislator

From Times Wire Reports

Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin removed a vocal critic of President Bush from the Liberal Party’s parliamentary caucus, further weakening his minority government’s tenuous grip on power.

Martin sacked Carolyn Parrish a day after she stomped on a Bush doll as part of a televised comedy show. Parrish also has embarrassed the government by describing Bush harshly.

The combined opposition now outnumbers the Liberals and their allies. Parrish, who remains in Parliament as an independent, could topple Martin’s government if she sided with the opposition in a confidence vote.
