The Defense Department last week also identified the following American military personnel killed in Afghanistan and Iraq:

Eric L. Allton, 34, of Houston; captain, Army. Allton was killed Sept. 26 by a mortar round in Ramadi, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 17th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Hovey, Korea.

Gregory A. Cox, 21, of Carmichaels, Pa.; specialist, Army. Cox was killed Monday when his military vehicle was unintentionally run off the road by a civilian vehicle in Balad, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 77th Armor Regiment, 1st Infantry Division in Schweinfurt, Germany.

Darren J. Cunningham, 40, of Groton, Mass.; staff sergeant, Army. Cunningham was killed Thursday when his unit came under mortar attack in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 89th Military Police Brigade at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Timothy Folmar, 21, of Sonora, Texas; sergeant, Marine Corps. Folmar was among three Marines killed Sept. 24 in enemy action in Iraq’s Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

David W. Johnson, 37, of Portland, Ore.; specialist, Army National Guard. Johnson was killed Sept. 25 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his convoy vehicle in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 162nd Infantry Regiment, Army National Guard in Cottage Grove, Ore.

Ryan Leduc, 28, of Pana, Ill.; second lieutenant, Marine Corps. Leduc was killed Sept. 24 in a noncombat vehicle accident in Rutbah, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Ramon Mateo, 20, of Suffolk, N.Y.; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Mateo was among three Marines killed Sept. 24 in enemy action in Iraq’s Al Anbar province. He was assigned to Headquarters and Service Company, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Clifford L. Moxley Jr., 51, of New Castle, Pa.; specialist, Army National Guard. Moxley died Sept. 25 of noncombat-related injuries in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 103rd Armor Regiment, Army National Guard in Berwick, Pa.

Tyler D. Prewitt, 22, of Phoenix; sergeant, Army. Prewitt died Tuesday in Landstuhl, Germany, of injuries suffered Sept. 24 when a rocket-propelled grenade struck his vehicle in Baqubah, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division in Vilseck, Germany.

Alan L. Rogers, 49, of Kearns, Utah; staff sergeant, Army National Guard. Rogers died Wednesday of noncombat-related injuries in Bagram, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 211th Aviation Regiment, Army National Guard in West Jordan, Utah.

Kenneth L. Sickels, 20, of Apple Valley, Calif.; private first class, Marine Corps. Sickels was killed Monday in a noncombat-related incident in Iraq’s Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Joshua K. Titcomb, 20, of Somerset, Ky.; private first class, Army. Titcomb died Wednesday in Ramadi, Iraq, of injuries suffered Tuesday when an improvised explosive device exploded near his military vehicle. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 72nd Armor Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Casey, Korea.

Robert Oliver Unruh, 25, of Tucson; specialist, Army. Unruh was killed Sept. 25 when his unit was attacked with small-arms fire in Iraq’s Al Anbar province. He was assigned to the 44th Engineer Battalion at Camp Howze, Korea.
