Accused Carjacker Also May Be Tied to Robbery
Authorities say the man who allegedly carjacked and crashed four cars and sexually assaulted two victims may have been involved in a home invasion robbery.
Derrick A. Hill, 22, pleaded not guilty Monday to 22 felony charges, including kidnapping, robbery, carjacking and sexual assaults in connection with a Sept. 19 string of crimes.
Now, authorities say Hill may be one of three men who broke into a Santa Clara apartment in April.
During a trial for one of the alleged robbers, Charles Cortemanche, Vacaville Police Det. Dale Hogg testified that Hill “looks very similar” to one accomplice armed with a sawed-off shotgun.
