Scholastic Standards
Re “Many Nervous Juniors Are Put to the Test Again,” Aug. 27: In the words of Shirley Temple, “Oh, my goodness.” A student has six tries to pass the test and has to score only 55%. When I attended Manual Arts High School (circa 1952), 60% on any test was barely passing, with a D. The students better set their standards higher than that, or they won’t be able to count their money when they graduate from college.
