Two Strong Earthquakes Leave 38 Injured
From Times Wire Reports
Two powerful earthquakes hit off western Japan, injuring 38 people and swaying buildings nearly 300 miles away in Tokyo.
Strong aftershocks followed the initial temblors of magnitude 6.9 and 7.3. The quake was felt the strongest in sparsely populated areas of southwestern Wakayama prefecture, and a few broken bones were the worst injuries reported.
A tsunami warning was issued, but the highest wave recorded was only 3 feet.
