Ichiro Suzuki was one for four to give him a major league-leading 224 hits, 33 short of the single-season record. He has 26 games remaining to reach the record of 257 hits, set by George Sisler of the St. Louis Browns in 1920.

Kansas City 12, Minnesota 3 -- Jimmy Gobble (7-8) pitched a complete game, David DeJesus hit a two-run homer, and the top five batters in the Royal lineup each had two runs batted in at Minneapolis. Gobble gave up six hits and walked two.
