Times Staff Writer

Manager Mike Scioscia made it official Sunday: He will go with a four-man rotation for the final week of the season, leaving struggling starter Aaron Sele in the bullpen at Texas and Oakland this week.

After Bartolo Colon pitches against the Rangers tonight, Kelvim Escobar, Jarrod Washburn and John Lackey will start the next three games at Texas, each on three days’ rest. Colon will come back Friday on three days’ rest to pitch at Oakland, followed by Escobar and Washburn.

Escobar, Washburn and Lackey have experience starting on three days’ rest; Escobar did it several times for Toronto last September.

Colon started on three days’ rest for Cleveland in Game 4 of the 1999 American League division series and was rocked for six hits and seven runs in one inning of a 23-7 loss.

“Bart hasn’t done it a lot, but he’s up for it,” Scioscia said.

Right fielder Vladimir Guerrero was presented with the owner’s trophy before Sunday night’s game, an award given to the Angels’ most valuable player, as voted by the players. Guerrero is batting .327 with 33 homers and 115 runs batted in.
