4 Soldiers, 2 Militants Slain in Gun Battle

About 20 militants ambushed an Afghan military patrol in a Taliban stronghold, sparking a three-hour gun battle that left four troops and two rebels dead, an Afghan official said.
The gunmen opened fire on 30 soldiers riding in pickup trucks through Nawbahar, a mountainous district of Zabol province, Deputy Police Chief Jailani Khan said.
