Suit Challenging March Air Base Project Settled
The main opponents of an around-the-clock commercial cargo port at March Air Reserve Base said Wednesday that a lawsuit they filed challenging the project had been settled.
On March 22, a judge had ruled against the groups’ environmental challenges, and they said they could not afford to carry on with the other claims.
The groups had alleged that the base did not conduct proper environmental impact studies, ignored possible contamination of drinking water supplies and broke a promise to abide by a nighttime curfew on flights. The March Joint Powers Authority had denied all the allegations.
