From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputies looking to make a few extra bucks moonlighting as models might need to look elsewhere for work.

Sheriff Les Weidman said there will be no more catalog photo shoots or similar commercial ventures for employees.

Weidman initiated the ban, which took effect Monday, after it was disclosed that he allowed off-duty deputies, as well as a department helicopter and vehicles and equipment, to be photographed for a catalog.
