An estimated 148 athletes from around the world will participate in ESPN’s 11th annual X Games this weekend, with competitors in skateboarding, motocross, wakeboard and BMX in action. Wakeboard events will be staged in Long Beach Marine Stadium, where admission is free. Skateboard events are slated for Staples Center; moto and BMX events are scheduled at both Staples and the Home Depot Center in Carson. The related X Fest -- featuring live music, skate and BMX parks, and other attractions -- will be held outdoors at Staples and Home Depot centers. The Dead Kennedys and Pennywise are among acts slated to perform.

X Games: $5 to $35; a ticket to one of the game events also includes admission to X Fest. Separate X Fest tickets are $5. www.xgames.com or www.ticketmaster.com.
