Brad Radke pitched seven strong innings Friday night at Minneapolis, leading the Minnesota Twins to a 12-0 victory over the Boston Red Sox, whose eight-game winning streak ended.

Radke (7-10), who nearly signed with the Red Sox last winter before deciding to take an $18-million, two-year contract and return for his 11th season in Minnesota, picked up his first victory since the All-Star break. He retired 15 consecutive batters at one point.

Terry Tiffee’s two-run double and Jacque Jones’ two-run homer highlighted a five-run eighth against reliever Jeremi Gonzalez, and the Twins won for only the fourth time in 15 games.

Oakland 5, Kansas City 4 -- The Athletics rallied from a three-run deficit at Kansas City, Mo., to win for the eighth time in nine games.

The Royals, who have lost eight in a row, took a 4-3 lead into the eighth, but relievers Jeremy Affeldt (0-1) and Ambiorix Burgos combined to give up two runs on three walks, a single and a wild pitch.

Baltimore 10, Texas 5 -- Jay Gibbons and Brian Roberts homered during a six-run third inning at Arlington, Texas, and the Orioles remained unbeaten in two games under interim Manager Sam Perlozzo.

Staked to a 10-0 lead in the fourth inning, Bruce Chen (8-6) ended a streak of five consecutive winless starts.

He gave up two runs and five hits in six innings.

Seattle 4, Chicago 2 -- Richie Sexson doubled in the go-ahead run, helping Joel Pineiro earn his first win in a month.

The White Sox (70-38) have the best record in the majors but have lost 10 of their last 14 home games. Pineiro (4-7) won for the first time since July 7, yielding eight hits and two runs in 6 1/3 innings.

New York 6, Toronto 2 -- Aaron Small won again to lead the Yankees at Toronto. Small (3-0) has helped stabilize the back of the Yankees’ rotation, winning three of his four starts since being recalled from the minors July 17.

Small hadn’t started a major league game since 1996 before last month, but injuries to Kevin Brown, Carl Pavano and Chien-Ming Wang forced the Yankees to search for starters.

Cleveland 9, Detroit 6 -- Casey Blake and Coco Crisp homered and drove in three runs each for the Indians, who scored all of their runs in the sixth inning at Detroit. The Indians sent 15 batters to the plate and had 10 hits in the inning.
