Deputy Fatally Shoots Man After Pursuit
A 26-year-old Lancaster man was shot to death by a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy Monday when he struggled with the deputy after a pursuit triggered by a “road rage” incident, officials said.
The pursuit began on Lancaster Boulevard, officials said, and ended shortly before 7 a.m. when the man’s vehicle overturned near 30th Street West and Avenue J.
The man, reportedly armed, crawled out of the wreckage and began struggling with a deputy, who opened fire.
The man’s name was withheld pending notification of kin. The deputy’s name was not released.
