How does a fictional cartoon group tour? Why virtually, of course.
The Gorillaz, the virtual hip-hop band of rock and rap musicians fronted by 2D characters, will hit the road -- or information superhighway, anyway -- for a one-day online event on Aug. 24.
The band will drop into 12 different destinations by way of www.habbohotel.com, an online virtual community for teens. There, the band members, speaking through their cartoon alter egos, will interact with fans.
