Their art speaks to our storied history

RE “These Walls Do Talk” [Dec. 8]: While I enjoy the Home section and tend to live vicariously through the stories and photos, I really appreciated finally being able to read about “my folks.”

Sometimes I think we are not looked upon as having a population of people who do indeed live well in lovely homes, have fabulous art collections and friendships with wonderful architects.

The Kinseys’ home is magnificently decorated with wonderful art pieces, which gave me pleasure as I read the historical backgrounds of some of their collection.

While I may not be a member of the “black elite,” I certainly am aware of who the Kinseys are and what they have contributed to the African American art world.
