From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Detectives from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department are investigating whether students at La Costa Canyon High School hacked into the campus computer to raise grades and test scores.

Peggy Lynch, superintendent of the San Dieguito Union High School District, said there was no indication that hackers had gotten access to personal information about students or teachers. But she has asked teachers to change their passwords.

Detectives who usually work on cases involving identity theft and other computer crimes have been assigned to the case, the Sheriff’s Department said.
