Vols’ Moore Injured
Tennessee, ranked No. 5, walked away with a 77-70 victory over No. 18 Georgia in a Southeastern Conference game Monday at Knoxville, Tenn., and breathed a sigh of relief as it appeared to avoid a serious injury to its point guard.
The Lady Vols’ Loree Moore was whacked in the nose and briefly lost consciousness with four minutes left in the game. Team officials said they suspected her nose was broken. After Moore was hurt, Tennessee (16-3, 6-0) quickly extended its lead from seven to 11 over Georgia (16-6, 5-3).
Virginia 77, No. 24 Florida State 62 -- The Cavaliers (16-5, 5-2) limited the Seminoles (18-4, 5-3) to 36.1% shooting in an Atlantic Coast Conference victory at Tallahassee, Fla.
