2003 La Spinetta Moscato d’Asti ‘Bricco Quaglia’

This delightful example is a single vineyard Moscato from highly regarded producer Giorgio Rivetti in the Asti area, where Moscato has been grown since at least the 13th century.
Not a bit cloying, it has a lively acidity and a touch of citrus zest in the soft, round finish. The taste is like biting into a peach. Pour it in place of dessert after a substantial meal, and your friends will thank you. Or serve it with a plate of butter cookies or biscotti, or with a plain cake.
