American Airlines said that pillows would be removed from most flights beginning Tuesday in a cost-cutting move expected to save $370,000.

The airline, owned by Fort Worth-based AMR Corp., said in November that it was removing pillows from its MD-80s. Now the pillows will be tossed from 737s, 757s and Airbus A300s on nearly all flights in the continental 49 states, Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.
